Denise Tipton lives in the outskirts of Petersburg and has homeschooled for nearly 21 years. Only three of her seven children are still ‘in school.’ Denise believes that children learn best by actually experiencing life and exploring the possibilities for their futures and felt led to open her own art studio and gallery in 2016. All of her children are artistic, either musically or visually, so the progression to open a business in the field of art was natural and years in the making. Besides starting a new business, Denise is a new grandmother and preparing for the marriage of her second daughter.
F3.2 How to Use Art When You Are Not an Artsy Type, Friday, 4:15-5:15 p.m.
What if you do not feel like an “artsy” parent? Do not let that stop you! Denise will imbue you with the confidence you need to add art and other expressive outlets into the learning lifestyle of the family. She will give real examples of how to incorporate creative opportunities into your schedule and will provide resources from across the state and around the world. You may (or may not) have a budding Michelangelo on your hands, but you can have as much fun as Jackson Pollock.
