Florence F. Brooks

Florence F. Brooks

Florence, a native of Mississippi, journeyed to Virginia to attend college and decided to stay! A mom of five, ages 6-19, Florence is an ordained minister and a chaplain in a continuing care community. She is also a volunteer on the VaHomeschoolers Helpline and currently serves on the board of her local library’s Friends group. A desire to connect with other homeschoolers, and to make an impact on a way of education and living that has been profoundly meaningful for her and her family, led Florence to join The Organization of Virginia Homeschoolers; she served on the board in 2013 and 2014 and as the volunteer coordinator during that same period. She lives with her husband and children in their home just west of Richmond in Goochland County. Florence enjoys writing, speaking, and working with individuals on topics that provide support and encouragement for life’s journey. You can connect with her at Florence.Brooks@vahomeschoolers.org.
