Marni Kammersell is a homeschooling mom of three young kids that have never been to school. They love to explore their interests together as a family and spend a lot of time in nature. She currently resides in Colorado, having moved from Virginia in 2013. In her previous life, Marni worked in public policy and was particularly interested in medical ethics. She also spent time exploring alternative education, including starting college at age 16 and teaching for several months at Summerhill, the democratic school in England.
Forest Kids for All Ages: Create Community and Get Outdoors!
Friday, Session 2, 2:30–3:30pm
In this session we will explore forest kindergartens, along with practical tips on how to create your own. Forest kindergartens, called “waldkindergartens” in their homelands of Germany and Scandinavia, are fantastic ways for children of all ages to regularly spend time in nature, year-round, with friends. Their motto is: “There’s no bad weather, only bad clothing!” Drawing from her five years of leading forest kindergartens, Marni will share how they have become a central part of her family’s homeschool. Learn how to foster a love of nature in your children while creating a supportive community for both kids and homeschooling parents.
